Atlanta is considered a top center for big business as well as a vital transportation hub for most of the United States. The import car scene is also huge in Atlanta; many enthusiasts can be found in the streets showing off their finely tuned cars. Some of the most prominent events are held in Atlanta including Hot Import Nights, the Atlanta Dragway Import Showoff and the Import Alliance show. Two of the most coveted cars on the scene are the Honda Civic and the now discontinued Acura Integra.

The import scene is generally quite popular with teens and folks in their early 20’s but sometimes fans can also be quite older. The biggest mainstream movie to incorporate the import lifestyle is the Hollywood hit “The Fast And The Furious” featuring Paul Walker. Enthusiasts enjoy going to events where the top rides are displayed for show and possibly even win prizes. The biggest drag racing events are generally held in Palmdale, California, however there are many of the scene throughout the United States.

The Honda Civic is one of the most popular cars on the Atlanta import scene due to its low price point, light weight plus the fact that a ton of aftermarket parts are available to modify it. Many enthusiasts choose to lower their Civics. Lowering a car improves its cornering and handling capabilities. Many car fans also like the look of lowered cars.

All Civics are great for fixing up and lowering but the new model for 2012 has been improved and looks better than ever. It sports a redesigned rear bumper and modified tail lights. Customers can choose from three different engines; natural gas, hybrid and traditional. The 2012 Civic would make a stunning import car due to its new and striking appearance. The engine will be a 2.0 Liter with a total of 197 hp and a six-speed transmission will be replaced. The base price is expected to cost around the late $15k range.

Another hot shot on the scene is the Integra by Acura. This is a compact sport coupe with front wheel drive. During the 90’s the Integra was one of the most coveted import vehicles on the roadway. It is a mainstay on the import scene due to its classic looks and ability to be modified into a top notch street legal race car. The most popular engines for the Integra include Type R and GSR. Many Integra’s have won first place at drag races across the world. The third generation Type-R engine outputs 195 hp and 8000 rpm. The valve train contains 4 valves per cylinder and dual overhead camshafts with Variable Valve Timing and a VTEC system. Many import fans consider the Acura Integra one of the best front wheel drive vehicles ever produced. The Integra was replaced in 2002 with the Acura RSX.
